The kitchen is the most used room in most homes, and the tiling in it needs to perform as well as it looks. Splashbacks have to handle daily heat, grease and cleaning. Floors need to stay looking good under constant foot traffic and the occasional dropped pot. At Alee Tile Worx we approach kitchen tiling with the same precision we bring to bathrooms — careful layout planning, clean cuts and adhesive and grout choices matched to the specific demands of the space.
Splashbacks That Define the Kitchen
A well-tiled splashback is one of the most visible design decisions in a kitchen. Whether you've chosen a classic white subway tile, a dramatic large-format stone look, a detailed mosaic or a bold feature in handmade terracotta, the installation has to be precise enough to let the tile do its job. We set each splashback out from a centre line or a logical datum — often the edge of the rangehood or a cabinet join — so the tile layout looks deliberate and cuts are symmetrical. Junctions with benchtops, powerpoints and appliances are cut cleanly and sealed with flexible silicone.
Kitchen Floor Tiling Built for Daily Use
Kitchen floors are demanding. They take foot traffic all day, get wet regularly, and need to be easy to clean without becoming slippery. We help clients choose a tile with the right slip rating, surface texture and size for their specific kitchen layout, and then install it on a properly prepared, level substrate with a full adhesive bed. Where the floor meets skirting boards, cabinetry bases or adjoining rooms we cut and fit neatly so the transition is clean rather than caulked over.
Precision Cutting Around Fittings and Cabinetry
Kitchens are full of obstacles — power outlets, gas connections, rangehood brackets, cabinetry legs and plumbing penetrations. Every one of them requires a precise cut that fits closely enough to look intentional but leaves room for silicone movement joints where needed. We use wet saws, angle grinders and hole saws to make clean, accurate cuts in any format of tile, and we take the time to fit each piece properly rather than relying on grout or silicone to fill gaps that shouldn't be there.
